Privacy Policy

This policy describes how QuanDev Technologies (“PattyShop,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use the PattyShop app at pattyshop.app and this website at www.pattyshop.app.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. Email address and password (the password is stored by Firebase Authentication, not in plaintext on our servers). Optional display name.
  • App content. Shopping lists, pantry items, quantities, expiry dates, storage zones, cooking presets, recipes, settings, and the household activity feed of who changed what.
  • On-device data. Local settings and cooking timers so the app can work when the network drops.
  • Optional contact. Messages you send to us (feedback, support, or privacy requests), including any name or email you include.

2. How we use information

  • Run the account, keep one household in sync, and show the activity feed.
  • Authenticate users and protect accounts.
  • Send the emails you ask for: verification, password reset, and replies to support.
  • Send browser notifications you have turned on (cooking timers, expiry reminders).
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

3. What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent personal information.
  • We do not share personal information with advertisers.
  • We do not use cross-app or cross-site tracking for advertising.
  • We do not use your lists, recipes, or pantry history to train AI models.
  • Firebase Analytics is not turned on in the app.

4. Household sharing

PattyShop is built for a shared household. People you invite can see shared lists and the name or email you use on members and activity. Treat invite links like a house key. If you leave a household and others remain, shared lists stay with them.

5. Browser permissions

PattyShop may ask the browser for:

  • Notifications. Cooking timer alerts and pantry expiry reminders, only if you enable them in Settings.

You can revoke notification permission in the browser at any time.

6. Service providers

We use Google Firebase for authentication, cloud database (Firestore), and hosting. These providers process personal information on our behalf to run PattyShop. Email verification and password-reset messages are sent by Firebase. If you submit feedback through a form we configure (for example Formspree), that provider processes the message so we can read it.

7. Children’s privacy

PattyShop is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contactprivacy@pattyshop.appand we will delete it.

8. Your rights

You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or ask us to delete it. Emailprivacy@pattyshop.appfrom the address on your account.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under Jamaica’s Data Protection Act, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Exercising your rights is free. We will not treat you differently for doing so. You may also complain to a data protection authority (for example the Information Commissioner in Jamaica, the ICO in the UK, or your EU supervisory authority).

9. Account deletion

You can delete your account in the app at Settings → Account → Delete account. You will be asked to type a confirmation and enter your password. Deletion is permanent.

  • If other members remain, shared household lists stay with them.
  • If you are the last member, the household and its shared lists are deleted with your account.

You may also request deletion by emailingprivacy@pattyshop.appfrom the email on your account. We may keep a minimal record of the deletion (that an account with a given identifier was deleted on a given date) when required by law or to prevent abuse.

10. Data retention

We keep account and personal settings while the account is active. After deletion, personal information is removed within 30 days, except where longer retention is required by law. Shared household data follows the household rules in section 9.

11. Data location and international transfers

PattyShop is operated by QuanDev Technologies. Household lists and other Firestore documents are stored in Google’s eur3 region (Belgium, European Union). Firebase Authentication, Hosting, and verification or password-reset email may still be processed in the United States and other Google Cloud regions. If you use the app from Jamaica or elsewhere, some information may be processed in a country whose data protection laws differ from those at home.

12. Security

We protect personal information with encryption in transit, access controls, and household-scoped data in Firestore. No system is completely secure. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us promptly.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page and, when appropriate, noted in the app before they take effect. The effective date above is the most recent revision.
